David Beckham returns to East London where his footballing journey began. Joining with grassroots under-14s side, Westward Boys, he has a mammoth task on his hands. Westward haven’t won a game all season, and the threat of relegation looms large.
After another heavy defeat, David surprises the boys in the changing room for an inspiring post-match team talk. The boys are on cloud nine, having a footballing legend join their team, but David knows saving their season will be far from easy.
On the training pitch David gets to work, giving the boys a free-kick masterclass. He relates to one of the boys after an isolating experience, and just when he thought things couldn’t get worse, an injury to one of their star players sends shockwaves throughout the squad.
