Serial killer Gabriel Engel has brutally slaughtered at least a dozen boys and creates art with their blood. When he is captured, Berlin police is poised to close the string of murders. But in a nearby village, a simple rural cop, Michael Martens, is consumed with solving the homicide of a young local girl. In spite of the evidence, he is convinced that the crimes are connected.
