Johanna misinterprets her friendship with fellow student Aapo and she's humiliated when his rejection of her is caught on film. But a greater shock is in store when Aapo is found murdered.
Johanna's father, Reijo, and Aapo's mother, Heikki, are interrogated by the police. Johanna is being threatened by locals and she stays at Eila's foster home Pikkurautio while Reijo is in custody.
Johanna lies to the police and steals Aapo's gamebook to try and find clues. She decides to play his final game through. Heikki is struggling to cope. Johanna finds a bloody knife in Reijo's ship.
Tuomas tells detective Penttinen that Johanna stole Aapo's gamebook. The Rajaluoto family have another sad loss. Johanna keeps playing the game and gets into more trouble with the locals.
Penttinen is removed from the case but continues with Aapo’s last game. Riipi is in charge of the investigation. Johanna moves to Pikkurautio foster home.
Penttinen finally understands Aapo's clues from the gamebook, while Pinja and Johanna desperately need help
