The Break-Up / Hypnotist

23min - The Recess Gang breaks up when a project involving writing a report about their best friend sparks division amongst the pupils. All five of the other children write about TJ, and he is rather dumbfounded to discover that he has five best friends, not just one best friend. A hypnotist accidentally hypnotises the headmaster during a show that he's putting on for the school. No-one wants to pay him for his time and the headmaster is running about like a 6-year old kid. Whatever is to be done about it?

Mama's Girl / Outcast Ashley

23min - Spinelli accidentally calls Miss Grotke "Mama" in front of the whole playground. Since her friends think that this is funny, they then try to make Randall say "Mama", too. However, Randal is too smart for his friends... Later, all Miss Grotke's pupils call her "Mama"! Ashley A gets thrown out of The Ashleys because she forgets the tradition of Purple Day, a grave sin against the clique. She is then forced to hook up with Gretchen.

The Game / The Lost Ball

23min - An addictive card game called Ajimbo reaches Third Street and it isn't long before everyone except TJ are under its spell. They can't think about anything but Ajimbo. Gus is told that he has to go to the Yard of No Return when he loses a good ball over the fence. Gus enters a dream about how losing the ball could affect his future, after being booed at his graduation, rejected in regular employment and even being kicked out of heaven. After waking up from this nightmare, Gus decides that he has little choice but to go over the fence.

Gus' Last Stand / Operation Field Trip

23min - After having his attention accidentally focused on Gus, school bully Gelman starts to pick on him, routinely tossing him into a rubbish bin. This continues relentlessly, despite the friends' best attempts to stop Gelman and although Miss Finster threatens to take the bully to Principal Prickly's office faster than he can say "detention". The school is going on a field trip, but TJ's class's bus breaks down, leaving them stranded.

The Challenge / Wild Child

23min - Principal Prickly has a brother and he too is the headmaster of a primary school. One day, he decides to call on his brother at Third Street. The kids are very excited and Principal Prickly has them tidying the whole school for the visit. Things seem pretty calm at first, but then Prickly's brother happens to catch sight of a game of dodgeball in progress and immediately challenges his brother to a game between the two rival teams. In the 'Pee Wee Pals' programme, each of the bigger kids have to look after an infant during playtime.

The Substitute / Gretchen and the Secret of Yo

23min - Miss Grotke is absent from school for a week due to a hospital visit, and has arranged for a substitute. The kids are excited, as they see this as a golden opportunity to do whatever they choose and play tricks. However, the substitute arrives in the form of the mysterious and imposing Mr E, a teacher who instantly asserts his authority over everyone, except for the rebellious TJ, who clashes with him at first but then discovers that he actually has some very positive attributes. Gretchen discovers a new talent for yo-yos.

The Girl Was Trouble / Copycat Kid

23min - Gretchen braves Third Street's underworld to reclaim her Galileo PDA, and finds herself on the wrong side of the law! Mikey nearly gets hit in the face by a ball during a baseball game but Vince catches it just in the nick of time. Mikey then starts to idolise Vince, imitating his voice, mannerisms and style of dress and leaving the gang thunderstruck. Vince doesn't like it either and after showing Mikey how annoying it is to be imitated by imitating HIM, they both agree that being oneself is far cooler than imitating others.

Operation Stuart / Pharoah Bob

23min - The friends try to hide a stray cat, but the staff are on the trail and things get very difficult. Two of the children get into a fight and King Bob reminds them of an 'ancient rule' made by an earlier king to solve disputes. However, no-one can even remember any of the previous kings, let alone the king who made this edict. This leaves King Bob worrying about whether he will be remembered. So he orders the Kids of the Playground of Third Street School to make a pyramid in his name so that he will be remembered when he has left.

Economics of Recess / Omega Kids

23min - TJ discovers that while he was at home due to illness, the school invented a new currency in his absence, called Monstickers. Now even things that were once free cost Monstickers, including playing, drinking at the drinking fountain and even coming into the school at all. TJ goes from poverty to wealth and learns a powerful lesson about greed. All the kids at Third Street School have fallen ill after eating Tuna Fish Tacos, leaving TJ and his friends reigning supreme as the only children unaffected.

Yes, Mikey, Santa Does Shave

23min - Christmas is coming but there's no snow yet, much to Hank's disappointment. The children are making the best of it, however, inventing all kinds of playground games. They start discussing what is on their Christmas lists and Mikey gets taunted for believing in Santa. So he decides to prove to the other children that Santa really does exist. Meanwhile, Principal Prickly is busy trying to persuade television producer Mr. Bream that the school is just the right place to feature in his Christmas special.

The Story of Whomps / Weekend at Muriel's

23min - Miss Finster catches TJ using the word 'whomps' and sends him to Principal Prickly's office, where he makes it absolutely clear that 'whomps' is unacceptable for use in the school. When Spinelli and her parents tell Miss Finster that they cannot find a babysitter for their daughter the following weekend, she volunteers herself. After an awful Saturday, having overheard Spinelli complaining to her friends on the phone, Miss Finster decides to make an effort and she and Spinelli enjoy an unforgettable Sunday together!

Bad Hair Day / Dance Lessons

23min - Mikey attempts to blow the world's biggest bubblegum bubble, but it goes all over his hair and he starts to worry about what his parents will think. So TJ gives him a dreadful haircut. Spinelli is fighting all the time and so her mother decides to enroll her for some dance lessons to make her a little more ladylike. Her dance tutor, Mademoiselle Pavlova, tells her that she reminds her of a little girl back at home. She then partners her with Mikhail, who turns out to be Mikey, and who is supposed to be learning how to be more graceful!

Principal for a Day / The Beauty Contest

23min - TJ has just broken the headmaster's window with a ball - not a good start to the day. But Miss Finster recalls that becoming principal for a day radically changed Menlo's behaviour and she persuades Principal Prickly to choose TJ this time around. So TJ spends the day with the headmaster, handing out detention and setting rules, and his friends get worried that the power might be going to his head... The Ashleys enter Spinelli into a beauty contest for a laugh but with the help of her friends, she beats them at their own game.
