44min - It’s the start of winter, and the temperature are daily shifting, causing avalanches and rockslides in the south. But this doesn’t stop Thord. In these times he is more needed than ever. Ice and rocks are falling down from the mountains, and Thord and his crew have to rescue four different cars entrapped by the deadly environment.
44min - Thord has expanded his territory and bought up the area of Røldal. The new investment pays off quickly. On it’s way to Sweden, a 28-ton garbage truck has slipped off the road, blocking the road, making long ques. The big rescue takes many hours. And when he get’s a call about a car that needs help further down from the mountain, he has to ask his friend Bjorn for a favour.
44min - After expanding his territory in the south, rescue-boss Thord has his job cut out for him. In the narrow and winding roads of Roldal, new cars and trucks need Thord's help every day. When Thord gets a call about a small garbage truck stuck in a road far into the new district, he thinks it’s going to be an easy fix. After a two-hour drive, he realises he has brought the wrong truck with him.
44min - In Norway, close to the Arctic Circle, there is little daylight during winter, but tow truck rescuers don't fear the dark. In the southern mountains, rescue boss Thord’s used to working under these extreme conditions. On a mountain pass, a 32-ton truck hits a lamppost and causes a blackout on a vital road.
44min - When a 25-ton fish truck has skidded on the ice, the monster truck is choking the connection of two major arterial routes. With 300,000 Euros at stake, Jo Roger and Roger can’t afford to get this wrong. They need to work fast to get the truck back on the road, before the cargo starts to melt and turn into fish soup
44min - Being an ice road tow trucker in the far north of Norway means work takes up most of your waking hours. There is always a truck in trouble that needs rescue. In this episode of ICE ROAD RESCUE, we show how our rescue heroes solve the lack of spare time by bringing family to work. Boss Thord and veteran Tor Steinar in the south both bring their young sons to rescues, hoping they someday will grow up to be tow trucker drivers themselves.
44min - Flashing lights from emergency vehicles are the first thing tow truck boss Thord sees when he arrives at an accident scene. A mail truck has slid off the road, into a deep river. The cab is completely immersed, while the back of the trailer is on dry land. Thord has only brought a pick-up, but at first glance he understands this work needs experienced men.
44min - In the south of Norway, road rescue boss Thord is facing one of his biggest challenges yet. A 30-ton excavator has slid off a forest path and capsized into a deep ditch. Now, its arm and bucket are blocking the road, making it impossible to get access with the rescue trucks. It’s a job for the best and most experienced ice road rescuers. Thord calls his friend, Bjorn, AKA “The Lone Wolf,” to help him out.
44min - In the south of Norway, Thord and his men are facing their biggest challenge of the season. A 40-ton snow plough has crashed through the safety barrier and rolled 20 meters down a bank onto a frozen lake. The driver was sent to the hospital, but luckily he wasn’t seriously injured. To lead the rescue, Thord sends out his best and most experienced man, his brother-in-law, Tor Steinar.
