Nikki, a young girl from El Salvador, moves into the neighborhood. When she visits the James' home, Avery and she quickly become friends. When Tyler meets Nikki he is immediately attracted to her. Tyler convinces Stan to spend time with Nikki's annoying dog, Evita, so he can spend time with Nikki. To repay the favor, Tyler agrees to spend time with an annoying girl from school so Stan can spend time with her poodle. However, Nikki becomes upset with Tyler when she finds him at the park with another girl. Chloe, who misunderstands what her father's job is, invites Bennett to speak at Career Day at her school. While speaking to Chloe's class, Bennett's upsets the children. To help, Ellen arrives at the school with treats and dressed as a superhero. Tyler and Avery are forgiven by Nikki when Tyler pretends to communicate with Evita, helping to discover that she has a burr lodged in her paw.
