How to Wear a Mask
2min -
Clumsy, charismatic, and lovable Disney “everyman,” Goofy, demonstrates the fine art of putting on a face mask as he prepares to leave the house and venture into the outside world. Despite his earnest efforts, Goofy becomes inextricably tangled in the mask before finally achieving the desired result. The film is part of the "Walt Disney Animation Studios Presents Goofy in How to Stay at Home” series. Directed by Disney veteran Eric Goldberg (the acclaimed creator of the Genie character for “Aladdin,” co-director of “Pocahontas” and director of two segments for “Fantasia/2000”), who also served as supervising animator, this all-new hand-drawn short carries on the tradition of having Goofy explain ordinary tasks in his inimitable fashion. Bill Farmer, the voice of Goofy since 1987, provides the familiar vocals for the character, and versatile actor, Corey Burton, is heard as the narrator. Goofy made his screen debut as Dippy Dawg in 1932 with minor roles in two Mickey Mouse cartoons, “Mickey’s Revue” and “Whoopee Party.” Throughout the 1940s, he starred in a popular series of “How to” shorts demonstrating a variety of sports and activities, and, in the '50s, he was reinvented as a family man facing the trials and tribulations of modern life. Goofy returned to the big screen in 2007 to show modern audiences “How to Hook Up Your Home Theater.” The “How to Stay at Home” series was produced by veteran Disney Animation producer Dorothy McKim (“Meet the Robinsons,” the “Prep & Landing” television specials and the Oscar®-nominated short, “Get a Horse!”). Mark Henn and Randy Haycock served as supervising animators for “Binge Watching” and “Learning to Cook,” respectively.
