Richard is joined by comedian Eddie Izzard for 48 hours in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. Without any ado, they explore the city using an ever-popular tap water app, which guides them to some of the city’s 38 water fountains. Along the way, they scope the city’s sights, including several fountains created by artists. Now fully hydrated, they head to the Postojna Cave, a system so big it has its own railway. Back in the capital, they head to TaBar to experience the unique tastes of Slovenian tapas, washed down with the country’s orange wine. Day two sees Richard and Eddie head to the stunningly beautiful Lake Bled. With differing levels of enthusiasm, they board a summer toboggan, a sled crossed with a rollercoaster, before rowing across the lake to Slovenia’s only island. After, they search for Bled cake, a local custard and pastry confection. Finally, there’s just enough time to take the funicular up to Ljubljana Castle and assess the merits of their mini-break.
