Some time ago, Hua Rong (Zhao Zhao Yi) ran away from her well-respected family, looking for adventure, and hoping to help those in trouble while on her travels. She went off to sea, but was eventually kidnapped by an infamous pirate named Qin Shang Cheng (Yuan Hao). He fell in love with her and kept her hostage on an island guarded by a mighty sea monster. Although she escaped the island, Qin Shang Cheng eventually found her – and the two fell in love. Now, they have vowed to marry, but the Emperor has other plans for Hua Rong: He wants her to marry Duan Mu Bai (Wang Ze Xuan), a hostage prince of the Southern Wilderness realm. The Emperor believes this union will bring peace to the empire. But Hua Rong has no intention of allowing her future to be decided by imperial decree – and hopes she can wed Qin Shang Cheng. However, a female pirate named Chi Hong (Guan Xin) also hopes to derail the union, and marry Qin Shang Cheng herself. Will Cupid aid the lovers on their quest for romance – or will destiny tear them apart?
