Seventeen-year-old Kana is cheerful, clumsy and a bit nosy. For her and her three best friends, life drifts by uneventfully. But all that is set to change thanks to some unexpected arrivals in town.
Hijiri acts more mature than her friends. She's a model and has a boyfriend who's in college. Is she happy, though? An encounter with Haruko makes her question what she wants out of life.
Mossan's burning the candle at both ends to support her dream of going to fashion college. Kana attempts to help her friend out, but her actions cause friction.
Kana and Sasaki have had a thing for each other for a while, but it's never amounted to much. Enter Haruko, who's more than happy to stir the pot and fire up their long-simmering romance.
When Pets disappears amid the climate crisis, her classmates speculate that her wealthy family has left the doomed planet for Mars. Kana uncovers some unpleasant truths while searching for her friend.
Things are looking bleak. The wealthy are leaving the planet in droves and the plants are counting down to something ominous. But Haruko isn't one for a bad ending. Can she rally Kana in time?
