Eve is on a revenge mission, set on throwing a dagger into the heart of The Twelve, even if she dies doing so. Having heard the name ‘Helene’ before Paul got killed, she focuses on tracking her down. To do so, Eve gets instructed by Konstantin that she needs to uncover one of Helene’s new assassins. Eve’s investigation leads her to one of these recruits, Pam. Eve, careless and reckless, is living rootless in her hotel. She gets spurred on by a friend, Yusuf, who also aids her with her investigation. Villanelle left the bridge wanting it all to stop. She wants to change and be good. She has seeded herself within a church community to try to change and must suppress the instinct that usually galvanises the Villanelle of yesteryears. Villanelle wants Eve to witness her change, but when she confronts Eve about this, she gets rejected. Just as Villanelle gets tempted to revert to form, she gains a clear sign that the road to change may not be as difficult as she had feared. Carolyn, relegated to an embassy role by MI6, focuses on getting back in the game. She becomes aware of a string of heinous murders that were carried out on members of The Twelve. With all service resources forbidden, and the consequences weighing heavily, she gets forced to seek different allies if she wants to continue to chase The Twelve.
