47min - In Kavik, Sue Aikens tracks and hunts an apex predator that has been stalking her camp. Glenn Villeneuve treks across the Chandalar wilderness en route back to his camp in the Brooks Range. In Kiwalik, Chip Hailstone hunts for ptarmigan through the deep snow, and in Eagle, Andy Bassich sets traps for beavers along the frozen Yukon River.

Blindsided

47min - In Kiwalik, the Hailstones hunt for springtime waterfowl, and welcome a new addition to the family. Andy Bassich works round-the-clock to protect his property from the imminent breakup of the Yukon River. Sue Aikens reopens her greenhouse for the short springtime growing season. And Glenn Villeneuve completes his 40-mile trek through the Chandalar Wilderness to get back home in the Brooks Range.

River of Rage

47min - In Kiwalik, the Hailstones hunt for caribou before the region thaws completely and they are unable to cross the river. In Eagle, the Yukon River begins to break up, threatening Andy Bassich’s camp. In Chandalar, the spring thaw allows Glenn Villeneuve to find previously unattainable food. In Kavik, a flooded runway hinders Sue Aikens’ ability to sell fuel to incoming clients.

Head Above Water

47min - In Kavik, Sue must repair the water damage on her runway to get crucial fuel for her business. In Chandalar, Glenn hikes in search of a canoe that he buried 3 years ago. In Eagle, Andy builds a kayak to hunt and fish with. In Kiwalik, the Hailstones move their camp to higher ground before the flood from the rising river waters wash everything away.

Against the Tide

47min - Glenn uses his newly recovered canoe to explore unfamiliar regions. In Kavik, Sue overhauls her heating system to work more efficiently for the grueling winter ahead. Agnes teaches her daughters how to fish for herring. And in Eagle, Andy sets nets for king salmon before the window to harvest the valuable resource closes for the season.

The Slow Grind

47min - In Kiwalik, the Hailstones embark on a seasonal native harvest. In Eagle, Andy enlists the help of an apprentice to construct a new workshop before winter arrives. In Chandalar, Glenn climbs a mountain in search of a stone hunting blind he built years ago. And in Kavik, a rare lull in her summer business allows Sue to head across the river to try and increase her supply of food for the coming months.

Midnight Sun

47min - In Kavik, Sue must upgrade her fuel system and change it from gas-powered to electric in order to improve its safety. In Chandalar, Glenn tries to come up with a failsafe survival technique. In Eagle, Andy hikes up to a familiar area in search of black bears. And in Kiwalik, Chip and his son are on the hunt for caribou as the animals pass through camp.

Higher Ground

47min - Glenn travels to the highest nearby peak in search of new resources. In Kavik, Sue pursues caribou to increase her food security for the winter. The Hailstone family processes and prepares meat and oil for the cold ahead. And Andy tries to take advantage of the final days of the summer growing season to harvest food for his survival.
